Education and profession: Trade union management school 1997-1999. Consultant in the Danish Confederation of Trade Unions 1987-2005. Consultant on matters relating to the developing countries for Arbejdernes Oplysningsforbund 1986-1987. Consultant on matters relating to culture for Arbejdernes Oplysningsforbund 1985-1986. Secretary of education for the Danish Social Democratic Youth Council 1982-1985.

Political assignments: Member of the Folketing since 2007. Spokesperson for the Social Democratic parry on media and fil. Member of the Parliamentary Standing Order Committee, the Cultural Affairs Committee, the Climate, Energy and Construction Committee, the Committee of Foreign Affairs, the Greenland Committee and the Faroe Islands Committee. Chairman of the social democratic members of parliament since 2011.
