About us

Rigsrevisionen is a public institution; its primary task is to audit the state accounts and to examine whether state funds are administered in accordance with the decisions of the Folketing.

Rigsrevisionen is organisationally placed under the Folketing, however, independent in the performance of its duties. Rigsrevisionen is impartial and objective in its approach when making the examinations.

Rigsrevisionen is headed by an Auditor General. The Auditor General co-operates with the Public Accounts Committee who according to the Constitution “supervises the audit control in the government administration”. It rests upon the Auditor General to assist the Public Accounts Committee in its review of the state accounts and to carry out examinations requested by the Public Accounts Committee.

Rigsrevisionen employs about 270 people, working within a wide range of disciplines reflecting the many tasks of the institution.

Rigsrevisionen publishes the results of its examinations. Reports, memoranda and additional products of interest may also be seen on the homepage.
